Very nice place to go if you love the beach but hate crowds and emptying your wallet in order to utilize the beach, because neither of those things are part of the Betterton experience! The only caveat about Betterton Beach is that the changing pavilions' showers only get cold water, which is bad for all of you Atlantic City fans, who are used to showering after your swim with hot water, but otherwise is a very nice place to go!
Quiet, scenic beach. A great getaway on the shore that has this hidden gem charm. Always family friendly. Plenty of parking and a bathhouse on site. A must visit!
Betterton Beach is a nice laid back getaway place for families with an annual celebration in August featuring fireworks and small parade.
Once a busy tourist attraction, Betterton Beach is now an isolated and quiet getaway primarily visited by a few locals and those with boats at the marina. Not much in the way of restaurants or shopping in or near Betterton. If it's peaceful isolation you're looking for, it's perfect. Day travelers can swim or picnic on the beach and there is free public parking and a bathhouse nearby.
The waterfront condos are attractive and might be a good fit for those who enjoy the beach but not the crowded boardwalks and exorbitant parking fees along Route 1 beaches. Or, that insane traffic on the way to Rehoboth or Ocean City. Not the place to entertain the kids or nightlife.
